Raising money for charity is at the heart of the Cardiff Half Marathon, with thousands of runners taking part and fundraising for a diverse range of local, national and international charitable causes.
It remains Wales’ largest fundraising event, with funds raised each year in excess of £4million. Its flat, fast and iconic course proves attractive to record-chasing elite athletes as well as individuals looking to run in the footsteps of champions. The race has sold out every year since 2016, providing a lucrative charity-excclusive sales period whilst demand remains high.
It’s a fantastic fundraising platform with 30% currently running for a good cause raising in excess of £400 on average via JustGiving.
The Cardiff Half Marathon takes place on the first Sunday in October, attracting 27,500 runners to the Welsh capital – 51% running the race for the first time.
Charities can create their own bespoke fundraising package, choosing the number of fundraising spaces they want, whether to upgrade for a standard or premium marketing bundle and selecting up to four additional optional activity bundles to enhance their fundraising pathway.
