ABP Newport Marathon Festival

The popular race is a firm favourite in the Welsh running calendar, boasting one of the flattest marathon courses in the UK. Over 70% of all finishers have claimed a PB on a route that offers iconic landmarks, like the city’s Transporter Bridge and the stunning scenery of the Gwent Levels – with its coastal wildlife and picturesque medieval villages.

The fast and fun supporting 10K race, which attracts some of the UK’s top athletes, gives runners of all abilities the opportunity to get involved in the festival of running, without committing to the challenging 26.2-mile distance.

New for 2024 – the event has been expanded into an exciting festival of running with marathon, half marathon, 10K and junior race options.

Races start and finish on the vibrant riverfront in the heart of the regenerated city-centre, where runners can expect electric atmosphere and a high-level of event organisation along with a warm Welsh welcome.

Barry Island 10K

Sun, sea and sand provide the backdrop to the Barry Island 10K – renowned for its feel good atmosphere and varied route.

A host of children’s activities including a Family Fun Run and Toddler Dash take place along the promenade – giving budding athletes and families a chance to get in on the action.

Races start and finish at the iconic Whitmore Bay, which also hosts an exciting Event Village with live music, entertainment, stands and tasty street food. Relax on a deck chair post-run or enjoy an optional (but very much encouraged) dip in the sea on Barry’s sandy blue flag beach.

Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K

The Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K is an exciting addition to the town known for its surf, sports and coastal walks. A summertime hotspot for both locals and visitors – Porthcawl is renowned for shining under the sun.

The race takes in a number of landmarks and stunning seaside spots including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, the picturesque town centre, historic Grand Pavillion and the iconic Porthcawl Lighthouse. It delivers an exciting atmosphere, sea side views and even a red arrow fly past!

Rabbit Run Wales

12K Trail, 40K Trail & Junior Races

Rabbit Run Wales features a series of stunning trail races that offer the unique opportunity to run on the private grounds of the Merthyr Mawr Estate.

Set on the South Wales coast, the Merthyr Mawr Warren National Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife and a trail-running paradise.

A 12K race takes in stunning trails, hills, valleys, a river crossing, and the chance to experience a tumble down the Big Dipper,  the highest sand dune in Wales.

A new 40K race takes in all the 12K has to offer as well as a stunning tour of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, which promises dramatic landscapes, plunging cliffs, secluded coves and breathtaking views.

The event is delivered in partnership by the Merthyr Mawr Estate & Run 4 Wales (R4W).

 

CDF 10K

The CDF 10K was established by Welsh charity Kidney Wales in 1986.

In 2023, Run 4 Wales (R4W), Wales’ leading mass participation events company added the historic Cardiff 10K to its portfolio of world-class events. The revival of this iconic event gives thousands of runners the opportunity to take to the streets of the Welsh capital every autumn.

The CDF 2K give budding athletes and families the chance to absorb the race day atmosphere, with fancy dress very much encouraged.

The Dell Technologies Management Challenge is a unique 4-dimensional competitive event aimed at optimising management team performance and delivering positive charitable outcomes. A team, comprising of 6 plus 1 ‘Team Enabler’, participate in:

  2. Management development
  3. Senior-level Networking opportunities and forums
  4. Charity development and fundraising activities

The Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K is a flat, fast and friendly event for all ages and abilities, that forms part of the R4W 10K Series.

The popular spring-time race, which attracts some of the UK’s top athletes is set in the heart of the Cardiff’s historic Bay. The 10K course takes in all of Cardiff Bay’s most iconic landmarks, starting and finishing in Roald Dahl Plass and passing the Wales Millennium Centre, Mermaid Quay, the Pierhead Building, Senedd, Porth Teigr and the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
